A new health scare erupted over soft drinks last night amid evidence they may cause serious cell damage. Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in drinks such as Fanta and Pepsi Max has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA.

    You know that doesn’t surprise me. I tend to avoid coke anyway as I think it just rots teeth and stomach linings.

    Ok biology geek admission - mitochondria are my favourite cell organelle. I like their function , their shape and their name. I like the name organelles too. :)
