While I'm not sure how realistic the technological advancements this project speaks of are (is anyone else - anything I could read written by engineers?) I think the sentiment is spot on. I've always thought a one-world government could be the best or worst thing possible. With the right people in charge (B&SoD style existence driven roulette?) and everyone equipped with everything they needed to live at a high standard, the greed machine could well collapse. There is one thing that withdraws the progress, which is that we haven't declared all the Earth's resources as the common heretage if all the world's people. If we do that, (and implement other solutions of The Venus Project) we will experience rapd technological advancement. That kind of society would take less than 10 years to build.
